Stress Test the VOIP Network
As your LAN administrator can tell you, your transmission quality largely depends on both the design and size of your network. Both of these factors affect the number of VOIP calls your network will support. The best way to determine your VOIP call capacity is by stress testing the network through simulated VOIP calls.
Work with your network administrator to define the testing parameters. The upper and lower thresholds for each network are different because each network is different in design and size. You may have an anticipated loss percentage that can be improved before testing begins. Analyze the testing results to define the optimum number of VOIP calls specific to your company’s network.
